The Great Barrier Reef is the Mecca of all game, deep sea and sports fishing around the world. The heavy tackle season out of Far North Queensland aboard Calypso is the pinnacle of our tours. Far North Queensland is where you will find your magical 1000lb Black Marlin. Unlike Madeira, Ghana, Cape Verde and Hawaii, all our Marlin are black. FNQ is scenically spectacular and will have you pumping for the Giant Black Marlin.

What tackle is used?

130lb Penn reels with Ian Miller rods are the norm. However we also specialise in light tackle and flyfishing for the black marlin and other species like Dogtooth tuna, Giant Trevally and Wahoo. For these fish we use top quality spinning and jigging outfits. There are many fish to catch.

How many can go on a trip?

A typically live aboard fishing charter is based on 4 anglers.

Whats included?

All meals, drinks (soda's and bottled water) beers and all necessary tackle on a replace if lost or damaged basis. All reef taxes and permits are also included.

How much does it cost?

Prices start from AUD$2950 per day, mothershipping starts at around AUD$5000 per day.
